WHAT’S YOUR EXCUSE? SPORTS ILLUSTRATED SWEEPSTAKES OFFICIAL RULES 

1. No Purchase Necessary. NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THIS SWEEPSTAKES.

2. Dates/Eligibility. The Sweepstakes begin December 28, 2009 and end January 8, 2010. 100.3 The Sound, KSWD (the “Station”) may change the dates or terms of the Sweepstakes, including canceling the Sweepstakes, without prior notice. Any material changes will be posted on a page at www.thesoundla.com (the “Site”). The Sweepstakes is open to all legal residents of the greater Los Angeles metro area including; Los Angeles, Ventura/Oxnard, Riverside/San Bernardino and Orange Counties who are 21 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees or agents of the Station, Bonneville International Corporation, Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, Time Inc., any entity associated with the sponsorship or administration of the Sweepstakes (collectively, the “Sponsors”) or any other television or radio station that transmits a signal for reception anywhere in the greater Los Angeles metro area including; Los Angeles, Ventura/Oxnard, Riverside/San Bernardino and Orange Counties, as well as members of the same household of the employee or agent, may not participate. The phrase “members of the same household” includes spouses, siblings, parents, children, grandparents and grandchildren, whether as in-laws or by current or past marriages, remarriages, adoption, co-habitation or other family extension, and any other persons residing at the same household, whether or not related. Winners of a prize in any contest or sweepstakes conducted by the Station during the 30-day period immediately prior to the start of the Sweepstakes may not participate. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received by 100.3 The Sound, KSWD-FM. 

3. How to Enter. Beginning December 28, 2009, and continuing until approximately 11:59 p.m., January 8th, 2010, participants can visit the Site to complete and submit an official entry form. Limit one entry per person and one entry per unique email address. Use of the information submitted to enter the Sweepstakes is subject to the Terms of Use of the Site. 

4. Selection of Winner. Daily prize winners will be randomly selected January 4th- January 7th, 2010. On January 9, 2010, the Station will select one grand prize winner at random from all eligible entries received. If the Station determines that any of the daily winners or the winner of the Grand Prize was otherwise ineligible or if the winner forfeits the prize by not accepting the prize itself or not accepting the required dates the prize must be fulfilled, the Station will select an alternate winner at random from all remaining eligible entries. This process will continue until an eligible winner is found. 

5. Prize.

A. Five prizes will be awarded in the Sweepstakes week of January 4th-8th, 2010; four (4) daily prizes and one (1) grand prize. The four (4) daily prize winners will receive one (1) pair of tickets that will provide them entry into THE CLUB SI SWIMSUIT EVENT in Las Vegas, Nevada. The January 4th and January 5th daily prize winners will only receive entry into THE CLUB SI SWIMSUIT EVENT on Wednesday, February 10th, 2010. The January 6th and January 7th daily prize winners will only receive entry into THE CLUB SI SWIMSUIT EVENT on Thursday, February 11th, 2010. Hotel rooms, transportation to and from Las Vegas, Nevada and other amenities will not be provided to a daily prize winner. The approximate retail value of the prize is $2,000.00. The grand prize will consist of (i) roundtrip coach airfare for two from Los Angeles, California to Las Vegas, Nevada, (airfare must be arranged prior to travel date). (ii) standard hotel accommodations for two (one room, double occupancy) for two nights at a Las Vegas hotel, and (c) two tickets to the THE CLUB SI SWIMSUIT EVENTS on Wednesday, February 10th, and Thursday, February 11th, 2010. The approximate retail value of the grand prize is $5,000.00. 

B. The prize is not transferable, subject to substitution by the participant or redeemable for cash, except at the sole and absolute discretion of the Station. The prize does not include any ground transportation, travel insurance, hotel room service, parking fees, laundry service, food, alcoholic beverages, merchandise, souvenirs, local or long distance telephone calls, tips, gratuities, service charges, resort fees or taxes or any other charges not described in these rules. The Station reserves the right to substitute any component of the prize with a component of comparable value should the original component be unavailable, regardless of reason. The winner will be required to complete an IRS Form W-9 and will receive an IRS Form 1099-Misc. 

6. Conditions/Restrictions. In exchange for the right to participate in the Sweepstakes, each participant agrees to release and indemnify the Sponsors, Time Inc., and the officers, directors, agents, parent companies, subsidiaries and employees of the Sponsors, for, from and against any and all claims, demands or causes of action of any nature or kind whatsoever, whether presently known or unknown, foreseen or unforeseen, that arise out of the participant’s participation in the Sweepstakes. Entry into the Sweepstakes constitutes permission for any Sponsor and its respective designees to use the name, likeness, portrait, voice and biographical material of each participant for an unlimited period of time in order to advertise promote or publicize the Sponsor, or the products and services of any of its designees or both. The winner may be required to produce identification satisfactory to the Station and sign an affidavit of eligibility and release (including a publicity release) as prepared by the Station. Anyone using fraudulent means to participate in or win the Sweepstakes will be subject to disqualification. The Sponsors are not responsible for technical, hardware, software or telephone or other transmission failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections or incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmissions, regardless of cause. The Station reserves the right in its sole and absolute discretion, to cancel or suspend the Sweepstakes should a virus, bug or other problem beyond the control of the Station corrupt the administration, security or proper execution of the Sweepstakes. 

7. Rules. Copies of these rules are available at the Site, at the studios of the Station, located at 5900 Wilshire Boulevard, 19th Floor, Los Angeles, California 90036, during regular business hours or by sending a request, along with a self-addressed stamped envelope, to the Station at the address above.
