Dire Straits is the band that goes LIVE@5 today. Here's an awesome version of "Calling Elvis." Nice headband, Knopfler!
I'm scared! ha
Santana kicked off a 2 YEAR Residency (who does that?) in Vegas at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. So let's do some SANTANA LIVE@5 today!
Here's "Evil Ways" live from Woodstock. Carlos Santana has epic hair! Looove it!!
I was at a Scottish festival once and met David Byrne. He bought me a Heineken. How funny is that? I kept the can for a long time! ha Happy Birthday, Mr. Byrne. We'll rock some Talking Heads on today's LIVE@5!
Meanwhile, here is a great jam of "Take Me to the River" live in Rome 1980. Some great musicians & singers helping out including King Crimson's Adrien Belew. I like the blonde chick on bass.
One of my great friends, Robin Fujiwara, is running this year's Rock-n-Roll Marathon in San Diego on June 3rd. She's doing the FULL, I was doing the HALF until um, I broke a bone in my foot! But I'll still be there, crutches and all, rooting her on!
Today we rock some Steve Miller LIVE@5. And here's a super sweet video as Miller takes to the stage with his childhood mentor and hero, the late legendary Les Paul at the Iridium Jazz Club in New York City. I've seen Les Paul perform here and it was a pretty amazing sight. RIP Les!
How happy does Tom Petty look here? Yay. I hear the tour is going great. CANNOT wait for an LA date already, Tom!! We'll rock a TOM PETTY Triple Play today on LIVE@5! Wahoo!!
Here's a great behind the scenes clip right before the tour kicked off, with the band in rehearsals and an interview about this year's stage set with longtime Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers lighting and set designer, Jim Lenahan.
Happy Birthday, Piano Man! We'll celebrate this New Yorker's birthday on LIVE@5 today. If you've never seen him performing with Paul McCartney, this clip is pretty awesome. It has to be Billy fulfilling a dream, that's for sure. "Let it be" live at Shea Stadium for Billy Joel's Last Play, July 2008.
It still makes me sad that Steve Perry is no longer in Journey. We'll rock some Perry JOURNEY on today's LIVE@5! Here's the band performing "Wheel in the Sky" live on Burt Sugarman's (who's that? ha) Midnight Special in 1978.
Four words: WIDE. WHITE. BELL. BOTTOMS!
Today we start the week off right - with some Van Morrison LIVE@5! "Into the Mystic" is one of my favs, check out a performance from back in the day.
